BPC Eighth Grade Community Service at the VIA Center

Once weekly a section of the eighth grade walks to the Via Center. The sections switch each semester. The center provides an educational and therapeutic program for students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. The goal of the center is to enable the student to return successfuly to public school. Teams were created of two BPC students, a Via student, and one staff person. The teams participated in many activities ranging from cooking, art work, dancing (gross motor development), and in some cases the team supported students in learning how to manage their assisted technology devices.
