2nd Grade Visits Muir Woods

The Second Grade Class has been learning about trees and forests.

In October we took a field trip to Muir Woods National Monument in Mill Valley, California, one of the last remaining forests of old-growth Coast Redwoods.

It was a beautiful autumn day for a walk in the woods.

We took a close-up look at these giant trees and the other plants and animals in their habitat.
After our tour of the woods we went to near-by Muir Beach for a picnic lunch and further adventures!

Now come and visit our pages about our trip to Muir Woods. We wrote full reports in class and illustrated them. Then we chose a few things to tell you about on our web pages. We made these pages using Netscape Navigator Gold, typing our work in and learning to format our writing, font, and background color. Our pictures were scanned and then we added them.
