That morning I got woken up by the anchor getting pulled up from the water. Then I heard the bell I thought it was time to get up. Oh by the way my name is first mate Scallewag. I am our captainšs first mate. I heard our captain say "hall up the anchor, we are headed off through Cape Horn lower the sails we are headed off!!!" Oh by the way we are on the Balclutha. That night there was a big thunderstorm. The thunder went on for the whole night. The next day we got through Cape Horn. We got the coal and went back to S.F.
