Mission La Exaltacion De La Santa Cruz, Mission of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, was founded in 1791. From that time on, criminals, natural disasters, and even a pirate wreaked havoc on the Mission. It never recovered. INTERESTING FACT: At one time, the Mission had 10 bells. By Henry P., 1999.
