Oakland Museum Field Trip!
On October 30th, 2003, the 3rd Grade went to see a performance offered by Dance For Power presenting traditional Mexican folk dances about Día de los Muertos. The dancers were from the Ballet Folklorico Mexicano. Later that day we went to the Oakland Museum to see their exhibit "Global Elegies", presenting different artists' view of Día de los Muertos. The art included an international view of "ofrendas" (altars) used to commemorate deceased family & friends.
