Hanuman
By Anna .N.

Once upon a time long long ago when a little monkey god named Hanuman was playing in the jungle he started to get very hungry. He saw some fruit in the trees and grabbed some. Then he turned and saw the sun. He thought it was the biggest and most beautiful fruit he had ever seen. He started flying in the sky and he flew towards the sun. Then he saw Indra flying on his elephant. Indra is the god of the rains and heavens. Hanuman thought Indra's elephant was a big fruit with a big nose and tail. Then Hanuman started chasing the big fruit. Indra got mad and threw a lightning bolt at him and Hanuman started to fall. He landed on the groud and broke his jaw. Hanuman means broken jaw and that's how he got his name.
When Hanuman got older he went on a journey with a man named Rama and a lady named Sita. There was an evil man named Ravana who captured Sita. Hanuman went to go find her at the City of Lanka. When he got there he shrank until he was about five inches tall so he could sneak in and bring Sita home. But they caught him and put his tail on fire. Hanuman laughed and he started to grow; he grew until he was like a giant. His tail was still on fire so he burned the City of Lanka.
Hanuman is an amazing god: he once flew over an ocean! He also picked up a mountain!
