Fifth Grade Explorer Page

Here are four treasure boxes from the Fifth Grade explorer project.
The Fifth Grade Explorer Reports

All 5th grade students had to choose a famous explorer. Then prepare the following 5 assignments:
  1. One decorated treasure chest the size of a shoebox.
  2. One explorer fact page.
  3. A map of the route of exploration.
  4. A hand drawn picture of the explorer.
  5. And a model or picture of the mode of transportation used by the explorer.

All of the assignments had to be made by hand, but most people went to the store for at least one thing in their report.
We each gave an oral presentation. First we showed the art aspects of the project (the chest, the picture of your explorer etc). Next we read our explorer fact page, then we answered questions.

It took a long time to get through all the 5th graders because we had so many interesting things to show. Every chest was unique and most had something to do with the explorer. One girl in our class made a chest covered in fake dog fur because her explorer traveled through the North Pole.
