The Thirteen Originals Colonies (What we did)

The Fifth Grade class did a report on the 13 colonies. Each girl and boy was assigned his or her own colony. Each child wrote a fact sheet, which told who founded the colony, when it was founded, what was there when the colonists came, and the reason why they came. If a boy and girl were doing the same colony they would choose 5 out of 10 things. We had to write about ten areas: some of them were food and drink, relationships with Indians, Colonial homes, religion, clothing, medicine and health, and more. Some girls and boys made colonial food. When we were all finished we all satisfied with our colony reports.

The Thirteen Original Colonies ( How we felt )

The 5th grade class did a report on the 13 colonies. Each boy and girl was assigned his or her own colony. We went on the Internet and got info and then went to the library to get books. Our teacher decided to have us do our report in class. When we were finished it was our own work and not our parents. Every one felt really good about their work when they were done. We had a lot of fun trying other people's foods that they made. My favorite dish was corn bread. Other people made homes or clothes that people wore during that time. At the end every one felt good about their report.
