Welcome to the greatest (snort, snigger), well, nearly the greatest webpage on

Rochester Cathedral

stored on the modern Internet.

Rochester cathedral was built in 604 by Bishop Justus, making it the second oldest in England. In 1077, it was rebuilt by Bishop Gundolf, with a slightly new design. Since then, it was remodeled many times due to certain natural and non-natural disasters. For example, the cathedral was regularly raided and sacked by Vikings. In 1264, the crypt was raided by the soldiers of Simon de Montfort. Much of the graffiti is still visible.
Rochester cathedral is an example of many styles throughout it's life. You can see Justus's original Norman style, as well as Gothic, Romanesque, and English styles throughout the building.

For my model, I virtually used just cardboard, tape, and paint. I cut it up, taped it together, and spray-painted the whole thing gray, right down to the base.
