| The White Tower was started in 1078, by William I. He and his men nearly completed the White Tower, but he died. It was completed years later my William I's son. It was built with Kentish Ragstone, and stands 90 feet high, being the tallest building in London at that time. It was the first stone keep in England, with walls 15 feet wide at the bottom, and 11 at the top. It's strategic position was critical, looking over the town, with a river on one side, and an old wall from an old fort that used to be there. |
| Over it's years, the White Tower was used as many things. First built as a military fortress and place of residence for William I. It was later used for tons of other things, such as a prison, a storehouse, a royal mint, and a place of execution. Now it is used only as a tourist attraction and museum. It still holds the crown jewels, weapons, and tools. This model is made out of foamcore and paper. |
