EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM
Philosophy:
The Extended Day Program is an Afterschool alternative exclusively for the students of Black Pine Circle School. Above all else, our primary emphasis is on each child’s happiness, safety, and enrichment. The children are encouraged to involve themselves in cooperative group activities that help develop their social, emotional, and intellectual beings. We understand that each child’s personal growth is important to their self-esteem, happiness, confidence, and general well-being. Most importantly, we place having fun in a safe, supportive, and non-competitive environment at the top of our priorities.
Staff:
One of the greatest strengths of our program is the exceptional staff, consisting of a Director and three assistants. This provides a child/teacher ratio of no more than ten to one. Our tireless team works together to offer the care and attention each child deserves. Our outside specialists are highly trained and experienced instructors lending their professional touch to each child’s development. It’s our mission that both our staff and outside instructors work together to provide positive adult role models for every child’s Afterschool experience.
Activities:
The Extended Day Program recognizes that after a long school day, children need nourishment and playtime before moving on to homework time or one of our various Afterschool clubs*. We provide a nutritious snack in our garden area as well as assistance with homework assignments in several quiet classrooms. We also offer three sessions of Afterschool clubs each school year. They can range from Mandarin and 3-D Art/Sculpture to music lessons and Mad Science with plenty in between. The variety of activities is sure to challenge even the most curious of minds.
