Fundraising & Giving
Black Pine Circle School 2008 - 2009
You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.
-Winston Churchill
Fundraising is an essential and vibrant part of our community. Like other non-profit organizations, BPC relies on individual donations and fundraisers to support our outstanding programs. We keep BPC’s essential values in mind to plan fundraisers and fundraising events that are aligned with our values of authenticity, environmental stewardship, and cultural integrity.
Cornucopia:
West Berkeley Arts & Crafts Festival
Sunday, November 16, 2008
Our main fundraising event of the year, Cornucopia, brings together entertainment, art activities, art and food vendors, and residents, which represent the diversity and abundance of talent and ingenuity within our neighborhood. There's something for everyone to enjoy! All proceeds benefit BPC's Financial Aid Program.
Annual Giving Fund:
Contributions from BPC families support the need-based Financial Aid Program. BPC’s need-blind admissions process ensures that BPC attracts the best candidates no matter their financial abilities or limitations. To the best of our ability, BPC enables these students to attain a BPC education. The Annual Giving Fund supports our general operating fund by supplementing our tuition budget. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. BPC strives for 100% participation from our community with the intention that all donors give to the best of their ability and at a level meaningful for their family. Our goal this year: $100,000.
Volunteer! Help run one of our fundraisers or volunteer as a member of the Development Committee and help drive BPC’s fundraising efforts. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Paula Eidson, Development Officer at 644-1023, x15, or Head of Parents’ Circle Liz McBee-Horner at liznjames@aol.com.
